LG Electronics announced on the 6th that it has supplied a massive commercial display solution to Fenway Park, home of Major League Baseball (MLB) team the Boston Red Sox.
At the end of March, LG installed a giant LED (light-emitting diode) main scoreboard at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, measuring 30.5 meters wide by 11.5 meters high, covering a total area of 350.75 square meters (approximately 1,280 inches).
In addition, LG constructed a total of 11 displays, including a large ribbon board measuring 21.6 meters wide by 7.9 meters high. The combined display area reaches approximately 842 square meters.
The installed LED displays utilize HDR technology to deliver detailed expressions of both bright and dark images. With a high brightness of over 700 nits and IP65-rated water and dust resistance, the displays offer excellent visibility and durability even in outdoor stadium environments.
Furthermore, their flexible design, optimized for the stadium’s structure, enhances spectator immersion.
LG’s giant display made its official debut during the Boston Red Sox’s home opener on April 4 (local time), providing fans with vivid game visuals and a variety of visual information.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics announced a strategic partnership with ANC, the agency responsible for advertising and operations of Fenway Sports Group, the ownership group of the Red Sox. The partnership aims to deliver a new entertainment experience to sports fans across the United States.
Through its MS Business Division, LG is currently integrating its display operations across TVs, monitors, and signage. Leveraging this project, the company is accelerating its expansion into the global sports market with a focus on media and entertainment platform business.
